Andy Sata Shihandai NORWALK, CT, May 5, 2005 - The picture at right marks an important step in our dojo history. This is the space we are looking to lease and build out into our very own permanent dojo! As we have been discussing with all the members, Phoenix Aikido and Aikido of Norwalk (Yanagi Aikido) have decided to re-combine into a single entity and put all our energies together to provide a stable home for our robust and growing Aikido community. This space will house a large fixed mat space with plenty of natural light, a bathroom, two changing rooms and two therapy rooms for body work. We are planning to expand our Aikido program to include four nights of training (Mon-Thu) plus Saturdays, significantly build our children's Aikido program, and add other programs such as Zen meditation, shodo (calligraphy), ikebana (flower arranging), yoga, etc. This is an exciting step for all of us and and is made possible by your continued enthusiasm, commitment and support to your training. We hope to begin classes in the new space as soon as the lease is signed and we will keep everyone posted as this process proceeds.
