Dojo-cho Chett Rubenstein Sensei, Nidan
Mr. Rubenstein has been training in the Japanese
way of Aikido since 1991. His original instructor was AAA founder
Shihan Fumio Toyoda who trained directly with the founder of Aikido,
Morehei Ueshiba O'Sensei. Mr. Rubenstein currently trains under
Sandan Corey Guilbault, Dojo-cho of Aikido of Norwalk (also of
the AAA).
With the desire to teach the Aikido message of non-violent conflict
resolution to children, Mr. Rubenstein began the after-school
program at Phoenix Academy in January 2003. In the fall of 2003
he began teaching Aikido as part of the Phoenix Academy curriculum
and created Phoenix Aikido, a separate non-profit organization
that will operate the expanded after-school program and provide
a funding vehicle for community educational projects including
the Phoenix Academy.
